We had a few days off and Miko was here for a few days, so we drove the van (which is finally back in business!) to Rifle. We climbed for four days, and spent the last evening at the Hot Springs pool in Glenwood on our way home. Climbing season in Rifle is ON! We are super psyched to be outside again. The first few nights were chilly, but everyone did well all bundled up, and it got warmer and warmer. Sweet camping in the van, check. Kiddos happy at the crag, check. New climbing projects, check!! It was deluxe to have my mom with Sky and Tao while we climbed. Tao is still nursing, but it worked out perfect. Sky was super excited by camping, the river, the dirt, and most of all, the big swing off of Pumporama. He cried coming off, and begged to get back on, no matter how long we let him swing for. Tao, who still isn't crawling forward, decided to eat dirt and start standing on his own... straight to walking, that's right, that will be the only way to keep up with Sky!
Little Sky, Big Swing!
Hot Springs Pool
ENJOY!!! :-)
These two little dudes live a pretty sweet life... traveling, climbing rocks, climbing trees, running, biking, flying kites, swimming in rivers, surfing, playing outside and who knows what else! Enjoy the show :)

Pincettes
I convinced Brendan to get a pet for Sky: tonight we got Sky a goldfish! After a little practice, sleeves up, hands in the bowl, Sky finally caught the poor thing and checked it out for himself, and then -with quick prompting- put it back in its water. It might survive its first night! The dude at the register said "goldfish are tough, they're a good starter fish"... little does he know what the life of this fish is about to be. Anyways, Sky is psyched. I asked him "what's his name?", and he answered like he always knew what his name would be: "pincettes!" (it means twisers in French). Brendan and I have no idea where this comes from!!!! In the meanwhile, Tao is trying really hard to crawl forward, and it's not easy, but it is going to happen so soon!!

Mini muffin project
It is still freaking snowing, and it's been THREE DAYS! Today is warmer though, so it is wet snow, and the parks are under a good foot of snow! So plan B: we played in the snow at home, and went to the library this morning. Sky is super psyched by storytime now, he goes sit on his own with the other kids on the carpet in front of the lady reading stories, and he sits there for 45 min! The only time he turns around to see if I'm here is to ask me for a snack :-) Then we went to McGuckins, and got ammunition for the afternoon: mini muffin molds! Along the snow idea, Sky also got a broom his size, and a cape this morning... Pix of the cape coming soon, it is so super cute.
We made blueberry muffins last week, and Sky thought smaller muffins would be cooler. While Tao was asleep, Sky and I cleaned up a little, and then baked! (and then read the library books 15 times each, eating muffins. Sky probably doesn't think the wet snow was such a bad thing).
Muffins were a hit, and I think the snow is done! And even better, one more day and Brendan comes home and this time we don't trade the kiddos: I don't work until Monday, so we are psyched!!! :)
