We met up with Brandi and Jeremy in Sinks Canyon, climbed for a week, camped out in the van next to the river, built some campfire and ate some home made Elk jerky from Brandi and Jeremy :) The weather during the day was perfect for climbing in short sleeves in the sun, and we woke up one morning to a small layer of slushy snow, to Sky's delight! Brandi and Jeremy were awesome! They watched baby, played with him, belayed us, the whole deal, it was very sweet!
Then we met up with Sean and Dana in Tahoe, climbed some routes here and there to warm up, and headed up to the Star Wall to check out Warp Factor. Brendan got on its extension A steep climb named desire. Sky and Sean did some rock-chalk art, and Sky was pretty psyched about his magnificent piece! Sean was belayer extraordinaire, and belayed us a ton. Dana had some cave exploration party with Sky in the meanwhile ;) We are so lucky to have people like these two around!!
We got the van worked on in Sacramento while we stayed in Tahoe, got it back even better than before, and drove to Petaluma to spent some sweet time with Brendan's family. Sky's mission was to try out the new playground built by Michel! Michel got on a mission with the swing idea: Janis said it started with "let's get a swing", which turned into "let's flatten out the yard to put a couple more things", followed by "we'll have a couple truck loads of dirt and sand put here, and some wood bark too" ... to end up in a pretty amazing playground in the yard! Sky got to spend some very special time with Jaja, Michel, the dog, the sheeps, and the chickens!!
We did one more stop before heading home, we stopped by my parents' new house in SF! Right by the beach... very sweet spot, and a cool little house. We spent a day and an evening right on the beach, hung out with my brother and my sister, and it was so nice. Brendan and Arthur went climbing while Sky, Fefe and I walked along Crissy Field, awesome sunny afternoon, then had an awesome pasta dinner with Arthur, Fefe and a couple friends, and headed home the next day. It felt like all our stops could have been at least twice as long, but they were all short and sweet, and to be done again!! Here are some pictures of all of that!! Overall Sky did really well in the long hours of driving in the van, he parties out in his car seat, and thinks the van is pretty cool :) xoxoxo
~~~ I just realized I have no pictures of Petaluma or San francisco, I guess the camera got packed, and didn't make it out :(I know Michel and Janis have some good ones of baby Sky in the swing and with the chickens, so hang tight, I will get some from Janis! :))))
