The boys are sleeping in...

Sleepy time for my two favorite boys this morning... I am so glad Brendan gets a paternity leave... it wouldn't be the same without him!!!

Sky came with us to the climbing gym 2 days ago, and did it again today. I finally started climbing again... and it feels so sweet! I -patiently- waited 10 days, and decided I was ready. Sky sleeps in his car seat at the gym while we get some climbing routes in. He is such a sweet little one: as long as he is fed, he will sleep and look around without a fuss. We stop climbing to come kiss him and hug him after a couple routes, and he does so well.

Tomorrow morning my parents are flying in from San Francisco: Sky is going to meet my Dad for the first time! Then at the beginning of October we're taking a road trip to California, planning to climb in Utah, Yosemite and Tahoe, and spending time with Brendan's parents, who are still impatiently waiting to meet Sky also!! There are so many grand-parents to meet for our little man :))

One week old!

We celebrated Sky's first week this morning, he was fully awake for the party :)) We got him a little German wooden toy, which Brendan attached to his PJs. He is awake a whole lot now and making faces. We went for a walk with the sleep sac my grandma knitted (Sky's great grandma). It feels like fall around here already, and I can't wait to get out more with our little man before it starts snowing!!! I am supposed to be chilling out for a few more days. I am getting pretty done with the resting post-partum phase... and getting ready for action! Being home with our little guy is lovely though, we can see him change every day!

Sky's saturday morning...

Wake up, giggle, coo and babble (no, no crying), put a beanie on, and spend some quality time with Mommy... and then with Daddy!!! I wish we could remember these first days of life: you get cuddled, you get fed, you poop, you sleep and you do it all over again!! You also get psyched for your next climbing trip to Greece and you read the guidebooks at our house ;)

Sky's new ride

Our little man had a busy day: got up, got a bath, and tested out his new ride, the Chariot! All of these activities are interrupted by feedings and naps, but that's what it's all about for a newborn ;) We love him so much we are taking lots and lots of pictures, so here are a few more.
Brendan just finished the last coat on the changing table, it is drying and will be operational tomorrow, can't wait! It's hand made out of the left over bamboo... ooh yeah, more pics coming.

Our little guy!

Sky is just too cute of a baby, and he sleeps with his arms above his head like Brendan!! Here are a few pix of him... A few at the birthing center, and a few from home. He is 5 days old, and has changed so much already from his fresh newborn look. He was born Friday, and on Monday I had my naturalization interview... with the INS, planned months ago... and we got out of the hospital on sunday, so we went!! So he's been out and about already. He is getting lots of sleep, lots of food, and some sunlight, so he's not too jaundiced ;) He is getting ready for his first road trip to California in October!!

New Family Member!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New chapter to our big adventures: as of last night we have a new addition to our family: a baby boy! He was born September 10th at 11:45 pm via vaginal birth, and his name is Sky. Chloe felt some contractions late that morning and was at 3cm and 80% effaced at 2pm when we had our midwife appointment. We then went for a hike in the Boulder hills, and she went into active labor somewhere around 6pm. Chloe labored at home for a while, then we went to the birthing center where she was 6cm and 100% effaced. She did it all natural, no meds, no interventions: my hero! Little baby is sleeping away his first day of life interrupted by some regular feedings. He seems to have good grip strength, and I'll let him rest for the first couple days, since he's been through a lot, but he's mountains to climb and trails to run ;)
Stay tuned for some pics, and may the adventures continue!
